Weather forecast over the coming days

High pressure remains close to the UK, but with generally cloudier and less cold conditions than of late. Overnight frosts are still expected with the chance of some patchy light rain, drizzle and locally icy conditions. From Sunday a much colder northerly flow develops, with a strengthening wind, especially in the east, leading to significant wind chill. Some wintry showers are likely to windward coasts by Monday. Very low overnight temperatures are forecast, with sharp frosts, and suppressed temperatures by day. Confidence is high for the forecast through to the end of Monday. On Tuesday a weather system may move across northern and central parts of the UK. Depending on the exact track and activity of this feature, some more widespread snow to low-levels is possible.
